We do this first by working with a very big name to build an amazing course, each week as the lessons come out we will launch them at the Journeyman Community.
Anyone can post content in this community, thousands or even just two can have live video conversations, members can ask questions or just demo cool projects. It's supposed to be a disorganized constant stream of tools and people learning and teaching.
Inspire you to code.
The answer to why you should learn to code is not, because you should. Learning to code is a blast, building an incredible app may be the most fulfilling part of your life or just getting an email from someone you helped could make your whole day. Code is not the destination, its just a tool to get you there faster. The internet the largest pool of knowledge ever created, knowledge you can organize and use. Learning to code is just how to connect to it.
What does "Learn to Code" mean?
At its core its just slang for a software engineer capable of creating software. There are many definitions of what it is, so first lets talk about what it is not:
- It is not a single language, but proficiency in a set of skills which help you write code and work together with people who write code.
- It is not a guaranteed job, career, or investment.
- It is not easy. I remember reading an article in the Wall Street Journal which said, kids like the sciences, software engineering, and math until it gets hard at which point they stop. Is that you? Are you the one that stops?
Cost is not an excuse
For $180 you can get a cheap laptop, for $70 a fully loaded server armed with Google Coder and Wikipedia.

But, I am pretty smart. This is true, if you are hungry and browsing around the internet looking at tools like this you are.

When you measure the most efficient animals, human beings are terrible compared to other animals in how fast we move or how much energy we use when we move. Give a human a bicycle and it becomes the most efficient animal on earth.
